Description

Lead Dioxide Coated Titanium Mesh NW HENGYI METAL.jpg

Overview
Our Lead Dioxide Coated Titanium Mesh is a premium electrode material engineered for superior performance and durability in demanding electrochemical applications. It combines the exceptional strength and corrosion resistance of a titanium substrate with the high electrocatalytic activity and conductivity of a lead dioxide coating, making it an ideal, cost-effective solution for various industrial processes.

Key Features & Specifications

Substrate Material: Commercial pure titanium mesh (Grade 1 or equivalent), ensuring excellent structural integrity and resistance to corrosive electrolytes.

Mesh Dimensions:

Mesh Thickness: 3.5 mm

Mesh Opening: 6.3 mm × 12.5 mm

Mesh Length & Width: Fully customizable to meet specific cell or equipment design requirements.

Active Coating:

Coating Material: Lead Dioxide (PbO₂)

Coating Thickness: 0.5 mm to 0.75 mm (uniformly applied)

Coating Weight: 7 kg to 8 kg per square meter of mesh surface area.

Key Performance Attributes:

High Oxygen Evolution Potential (OEP): Excellent dimensional stability and efficiency in processes involving oxygen generation.

Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Maintains integrity in highly acidic and oxidizing environments (e.g., sulfuric acid, chromic acid).

Excellent Electrical Conductivity: The PbO₂ coating provides low overpotential and high current efficiency.

Strong Adhesion: The coating is firmly bonded to the titanium substrate, preventing delamination during operation.

Service Life: Typically 1 to 2 years under standard operating conditions, depending on specific current density, temperature, and electrolyte composition.

Applications
This electrode is specifically designed for use in:

Electroplating: As an insoluble anode for chrome, zinc, and copper plating.

Electrowinning: For the recovery of non-ferrous metals like copper, zinc, and nickel.

Electrolysis: Used in processes for electrosynthesis, chlorine-free oxidant production, and organic electrochemical synthesis.

Wastewater Treatment: Effective for electrochemical oxidation processes to degrade organic pollutants and for disinfection.

Advantages Over Alternatives

vs. Graphite or Carbon Anodes: Far superior mechanical strength, no crumbling, longer life, and higher current capacity.

vs. Pure Lead or Lead Alloy Anodes: Much lighter weight (titanium substrate), higher dimensional stability, and better corrosion resistance under high polarization.

vs. Other Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) Anodes: Often a more economical choice for specific applications like chrome plating, with high overpotential for oxygen evolution which is beneficial in certain processes.
